Congratulations to all of those who participated in the Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival this past weekend! This event was a great success, and without your participation, it would not have been as great as it was! Congratulations again to our champions and all of our amazing participants. Give yourselves a huge round of applause!
We would also like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped make the fair happen - water deliverers, entertainers, embryology attendants, wagon ride drivers, farm house docents, judges, club leaders, 4-H members, and so many more!!! This event truly would not be possible without the help of such great volunteers! If you are an enrolled 4-H member who entered the fair and you received a ribbon, you get a premium! If you did not pick up your premium at the fair, then we have it in the office. Please contact Amy Ordonez at (703) 324-5369 or via email at amy.ordonez@fairfaxcounty.gov, to make sure we have a premium for you and to schedule a time to come and pick it up. You have until August 30 to pick up premiums, after that time premiums will be redistributed into the fair funds. Some club leaders picked up premiums for their club members, so check with your club leader first. Hoofers and Heifers members, Dan and Paul have the livestock premiums, so we do not have the livestock premium for you, but if you entered other exhibits, we will have those. Reasons we may not have a premium for you in the office: -You are not an officially enrolled 4-H member at least 90 days prior to the fair (This is a rule in the catalog, page 6). If you are not in the Access4H Online Database, you are not officially enrolled. -You already picked it up -Your club leader has it -You didn't enter anything in the fair!
