A brand new 4-H competition is coming to our area, and we want to train the best and brightest competitors!
Have you dreamed of becoming a chef? Are you a fan of cooking shows on television such as Top Chef, Chopped, MasterChef? If so, then 4-H Food Challenge is the competition for you!
Saturday, November 14 from 10-12, 4-H and the Master Food Volunteers will host a workshop to give you the tools to prepare for this fun and exciting competition! At this training you will learn the format of the competition, play some games, meet new people, and even gain some hands-on experience in a mock-competition!
More information on our local competition can be found here: http://fairfax4h.weebly.com/food-challenge.html , and competition guidelines and team preparation materials can be found here: http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/healthy_lifestyles/#foodc
This workshop is intended for youth ages 9+ that have some cooking and food preparation skills (e.g. comfortable with preparing simple dishes on their own - 5 ingredients or less). There will be more workshops in the future for youth with little to no experience.
Space is limited to 10 participants, so sign-up today!

On Saturday, November 7, we will be hosting our 2015 Officer Training! This will give you all the tools you need to be an officer with your club now, and for years to come. Officer Training is not just for elected officers, but anyone who potentially wants to be an officer in the future.
We also encourage experienced and new officers to attend - especially since lunch is a time for everyone to casually chat and exchange ideas! Bring some neat things your club does to share! Even if you've been an officer for years, you may pick up a new trick or two to help lead your club.
The training will last from 10-12, lunch will be pizza and will be from 12-1.
This is sure to be a fun day and we look forward to seeing you there!
